Disney Parks Blog has given us a new update on Disney’s Polynesian Village. This is one of my favorite places to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney’s Polynesian Village has had a major makeover this year and Capt. Cook’s is debuting an all new menu! The cuisine is comfort food with an island twist. Some of the new items are blackened fish tacos, lobster roll, coconut curry meatballs, shrimp or beef noodle bowl, gourmet hot dog and the fried chicken and waffles. Luckily, the chicken and waffles will be available all day. I can’t wait to try it. Tonga Toast (LOVE this dish) will be returning as well as a new breakfast burrito with egg, bacon, potatoes and cheese.
There will also be pizzas, a variety of sandwiches (hot beef’ n blue & grilled chicken) and sushi from the awesome Kona Island located on the second floor of the resort. For those of you on the go, a case will be stocked with salads, sandwiches and beverages. Hours are breakfast from 6:30am-11am and lunch/dinner from 11 am-11pm.
Unfortunately, there won’t be a self-serve Dole Whip station in Capt. Cook’s. A new place is opening in the court yard called Pineapple Lanai at the end of August. It will have the fabulous Dole Whip soft serve and floats in pineapple and vanilla flavors.
Kona Island will be serving a new treat of Hawaiian shaved ice as well as the usual coffee and pastries and take-out sushi. Hours will be 6:30am -12pm and 5pm-10pm. Disney Parks Blog will be keeping us posted of the new Trader Sam’s like its Disneyland’s cousin that is opening in Spring of 2015 right next door to Capt. Cook’s . Can’t wait to go check out the new dining offerings!
Chicken and waffles all day and all night. Yeha man.
