Royal Tea Traditions at Waldorf Astoria Orlando

in Food & Drink on 05/19/17

“Please join us for an afternoon of indulgent comfort in Peacock Alley as we prepare a  fine arrangement of classical Afternoon Tea dishes.”  Royal Tea traditions await you…

I have a found a little jewel inside Orlando at the Waldorf Astoria, Peacock Alley. If you haven’t been over to the Waldorf Astoria or it’s sister resort Hilton Bonnet Creek you’re really missing out. They both are beautiful properties with stellar service. It’s one of my favorite places to stay in Orlando.

My friend’s and I attended their Grand Royal Tea inside Peacock Alley which is located off the lobby of the resort. The area is decorated in lush blue, green and gold hues. Adorned with ornate furniture and couches for comfortable seating. The floor is so darling with beautiful peacock feathers throughout. On one side of the room is a full bar with stools and on the other large windows overlooking the pool area.

There is also a Pianist playing lovely music to make the day an even more immersive experience of elegance and tranquility.

Our server Phillip let us know about the set menu of finely-prepared tea sandwiches and exquisite assortment of sweets like macarons, tea cookies, scones, and chocolate financiers. All of the sandwiches and desserts had unique, pretty touches to the them. Little bows on the financiers and intricate garnishes on the sandwiches. Everything tasted wonderful and it was nice to bounce back and forth between sweet and savory with each bite.

We had plenty of teas to select from. I chose the White Ginger Pear which is a blend of white tea with Japanese pear and notes of ginger. He then presented the fabulous Domaine Chandon Champagne. It was fun to toast to an afternoon with friends.

Service was on point and friendly. The pace was relaxing and we were nicely taken care of. The tea pots were always kept full and we were able to have a perfect proper tea service.

This Royal Tea is the best one that I have experienced in Central Florida. When I was living in the Northeast we would often have tea service at prestigious hotels in Manhattan. This reminds me so much of those happy memories and I look forward to having more of them here at Waldorf Astoria Orlando.

Pricing is $30 for Adult’s Royal Tea and $15 Children’s Royal Tea.

Add a glass of Domaine Chandon Champagne for a “Grand” Royal Tea for $35 per person.

🐶Penelope is such a love and she is always right there to cheer you up or knows when it’s time to play when we have been working too long. I am grateful every single day for her and her endless sweetness.

🐾 She told me it was okay to share the recipe, so you can make the treats too!
