Review: Kona Cafe – Breakfast

Kona   Kona Café is located on the second floor of the Polynesian Resort in the Great Ceremonial House. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On our visit we experienced a delightful breakfast service.  I ordered the famous Tonga Toast with bacon (10.99) which consists of sourdough bread filled with warm bananas and covered in a cinnamon/sugar coating served with a side of strawberry compote.  It was amazing! The bananas were warm and gooey, and every bite was delicious. If you are not into sweets, it may be overkill for you.

My husband ordered the Big Kahuna (11.99) which is a huge breakfast platter of French Toast, Pancakes topped with Pineapple Sauce and Macadamia Nut Butter, Eggs, Potatoes, Ham, Bacon, and Sausage.  He liked the exotic flavors of the different sauces and butters so much that he didn’t even touch his maple syrup! He was seriously full afterward.

Kona is a great place to start off your day with a unique breakfast experience. The lavish grounds of the Polynesian Resort will make you think you have been swept off to Hawaii. It is a must do for us on every trip to Disney. I highly recommend Kona, and, if you decide to give it a try, I would suggest making advance dining reservations since it is a popular eatery.     You can view the Kona Cafe menu here.
