Have you been to the new Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort yet? Let me tell you it’s beautifully themed with restaurants and shops to match. I just love strolling around from place to place and I have just the perfect stop for you for something unique and totally tasty. Morimoto Asia has a cool, little brother named Morimoto Asia Street Food.
Located on the left side of the outside restaurant is a cool outdoor eating space with a takeout window of Pan-Asian Street dishes with a twist.
We had the pleasure to talk with Chef Yuhi Fujinaga who gave us the background on why Chef Morimoto wanted to bring Street Food to Disney Springs. It reminded him of his childhood and local festivals in his hometown. He spoke in depth of the fantastic dishes being offered and we were really excited to give them a try.
The Kalbi Bao is Short Rib, Kimchi and Scallions on Soft-steamed Bao Buns. There are two other bao’s on the menu with your choice of chicken teriyaki or pork. Loved the spicy bite of the kimchi on the Kalbi selection.
Chilled Sesame Lo-Mein Noodle with Sesame Peanut Sauce, Nappa Cabbage, Cilantro, Thai Basil and Peppers. Perfect dish for something light and if you have a non-meat eater in your group.
OHHHH these Morimoto Baby Ribs were AMAZING! Pork Ribs, Cilantro and Hoisin Sweet Chili Glaze were the songs of angels. I could have eaten 1o of these. These bad boys fell off the bone and were the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. Seriously a must try!
Morimoto Asia Street Food has a variety of beverages of soft drinks, iced tea, alcoholic beverages and in-house specialties like Popping Boba Tea and slushies. I finally got the chance to try a Popping Boba Tea. What a fun and refreshing drink! Citrus Organic Green Tea mixed with strawberry and lychee flavored bobas for the win!
Sushi sushi sushi! We tried the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Special Roasted Salmon Summer Roll. The packaging of the rolls were too cool. It was rolled up burrito style for easy eating on the go.
Morimoto Asia Street Food is superb and fresh. It was great having so many selections of easy and tasty bites that were portable and packed with flavor. The next time you find yourself strolling around Disney Springs you should pop in and try it for yourself!
