It’s time to experience the joys of being bad this summer at the Magic Kingdom for an all-new experience of Villains After Hours! For those of you who are not familiar with the After Hours Events at Walt Disney World Resort it is a special ticketed event that takes place for three hours after the parks have closed to day guests.
It gives you access to attractions and complimentary bottled beverages, popcorn and ice cream novelties. Crowds levels are so low that you feel like you have the whole Park to yourselves.
With this Villains After Hours event you get to spend the evening with your favorite baddies with villainous entertainment, attractions with little wait times, specialty food & beverages, merchandise and unique PhotoPass opportunities.
Attractions
Experience 24 attractions with low wait times throughout the Park.
Two classic attractions get a special villainous adventure twist for the Villains After Hours: Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Space Mountain is in complete darkness as you ride through with the your favorite villains to a special soundtrack. It was so crazy hearing Cruella de Vil laughing so loud and not being able to see a thing. It was scary and so thrilling!
When you enter the queue to Pirates of the Caribbean live pirates will be greeting you. On the ride, be sure to look up at one of the bridges to see Barbosa as he interacts with guests.
These attractions are similar to the overlays for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party but with a villainous makeover.
Entertainment at Villains After Hours
Villains Unite the Night
Hades and Meg from “Hercules” set the Castle Forecourt Stage with Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier, and Maleficent for a 20 minute show filled with magical projections and dazzling pyrotechnics. You don’t want to miss this show. If you are wanting to ride more of the attractions first, then going to the last show may be the best plan for you. I really enjoyed seeing how each Villain was going to be introduced as they came onto the stage. Each one has their own style of projections on the Castle. The show takes place three times: 11:00pm, 12:00am and 1:00am.
Maleficent at Night
You have to see Maleficent the Dragon float from the Festival of Fantasy Parade as she makes her way throughout the Park breathing fire for the first time at night. She does this at three times: 10:40 pm, 11:45pm and 1:20am. It makes a big difference seeing this sight in the evening. The fire is much more vibrant and the lighting around the park makes it more of an experience. You can see a video of it in my insta-story highlight here .
Dance Party
Come jam out to a DJ spinning some beats in front of Cinderella Castle transforming the entire Central Plaza into a club scene.
Specialty Food & Beverage Villains After Hours
The food and beverage team at Walt Disney World Resort have really done a wickedly good job at the spooktacular variety of villainous offers for purchase during Villains After Hours. Desserts, drinks and dishes inspired by Cruella di Vil, Hades, Dr. Facilier, Headless Horseman, Maleficient, Yzma, The Queen and Emperor Zurg. Disney Parks Blog also has an event Foodie Guide.
Magic PhotoPass Opportunities
If you love getting those magic shots with Disney PhotoPass they have a few going on during Villains After Hours. The PhotoPass Photographers have a laminated photo to show you what the magic shot will look like so you know where to pose.
Located across from Sunshine Terrace, magic shot featuring Scar.
Located on the bridge of Tomorrowland, magic shot featuring Oogie Boogie.
Located in Fantasyland right next to Pinocchio Village Haus, magic shot featuring Maleficent Dragon.
I also noticed they had some great exclusive photo backdrops throughout the Park.
Merchandise
Villains After Hours merchandise collection is filled with speciality designed products specific to the party. Shirts, hats, a tervis tumbler and phone cases are some of the items. I love that within the flames of Hades blue hair you can see a silhouette of Cinderella Castle and some of your favorite villains.

Don’t forget your ticket gets you park entry as early as 7:00 PM.
The only thing I wished was different about this Villains After Hours event was the lack of Meet and Greets. It would be epic to have a photo op with some of the rare characters. The only time you will see the Villains is during the Villains Unite the Night Show and at the end of the night while exiting the Park as they wave goodbye from the top of the Main Street Train Station.
The best way for me to suggest which party is for you is if you love to just ride the attractions then the regular Disney After Hours is for you. If you are a huge Disney Villains fan then this Villains After Hours is perfect for you to enjoy a night of wicked fun.
I love these Disney After Hours events and feel that they are a good value to be able to experience as many attractions with little to no waits. The complimentary snacks always sweeten the deal.

Disney Villains After Hours tickets cost $139 plus tax in advance and $144 plus tax on the event night. Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club Members can take advantage of a $30 discount and purchase tickets for $109.
