Disney Parks Blog held it’s first ever Disney Cruise Line Meet- Up where the Creative Team announced three new entertainment venues coming to the cruise ships this year.
Star Wars – Day at Sea
Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends
Tangled the Musical
Cruise Director Ray Smale hosted us along with the Creative Team with an in depth look at what is new. We saw never before seen footage of production videos and stills. They hosted a Q & A session so we were able to get some information on all of these exciting changes. As a special treat we got to taste the new dessert and beverage offerings to coincide with the new experiences! A couple special guests stayed after so we can say hello as well!
We started off with Star Wars Day at Sea on the Fantasy ship on itineraries cruising from January – April 2016. Disney has teamed up with Lucas Films to bring the Force to Sea. There will be a full representation of the entire saga of light and dark side for an amazing meet n greet. The same night with be a stellar firework display themed to John Williams Star Wars music. Pirate Night will still be performed on the ship but the only change is the fireworks will only on Star Wars Day.
Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa & Friends will be a deck party and character meet n greet. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf will be there to have a dance party, a sing a long to your favorite Frozen songs and Anna’s Chocolate Scavenger Hunt. As well as Elsa’s Maple Swirl and Twirl. On Castaway Cay there will be a new beverage stand called Summertime Freeze. It will be serving up non-alcoholic frozen beverages: Olaf’s Flurry Freeze, Sven Carrot Delight and Elsa’s Blueberry Banana Smoothie.
Tangled the Musical is a Broadway style show that will debut on the Magic on November 11. They have spent the last month in rehearsals and over a year in planning and production in Toronto. There will be huge dance numbers and three new songs written by the fabulous Alan Menken. Some of the scenes include the Town Square and the awe dropping lantern scene. There will puppets and Maximus the Horse! We got to see some behind the scene video of some of the highlights of the musical in actual production. It looks like it is going to be amazing! This show will be replacing Villains Tonight.
