What if there was a way for you to ride the attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios without a wait, have unlimited snacks and meet some of your favorite characters in a three hour time slot. Would it make you want to forgo a full day ticket at the parks?
Disney has created the Disney After Hours event which takes the ultimate pieces of what you would like to do in the Parks on a full day and limits the number of guests to make for a stress free experience.
Let me tell you, it’s worth it! I know I was an invited guest of Disney’s for this event but I am willing to pay for it myself just to experience this enchanting Disney After Hours event again. Most of the night the parks were empty as you will see in some of my photos.
With this special Disney After Hours ticket, the night starts off from 830pm-1130pm, but you can get into the park as early as 7pm. After the day guest leave for the evening, Cast Members will check for your event wrist band to grant you access to the attractions.
There were little to no waits at all during the evening. Longest wait was 5 minutes for Slinky Dog Dash. If you wanted to ride your favorite attractions more than once, you could. On some of the attractions we were the only ones in the ride vehicle. We rode all of the rides that were our must do’s in minimal time without the waits. It felt so nice to be able to leisurely walk from attraction to attraction without having to worry about missing out on something or having to choose between two rides due to time constraints.
Here is what attractions that are opened at Disney After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Toy Story Mania!
- Twilight Zone Tower of TerrorTM
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
- Star Wars Launch Bay
Have you ever seen the lobby of the Tower of Terror look empty like this during the day? I loved the opportunity to finally get this photo with no one else in it!
Toy Story Land all lit up at night is so magical! It takes on a whole new view with the glow of the strings of Christmas lights all around. I couldn’t believe I was actually able to see the ground while walking though here. It has been really busy since it opened this past Summer and the Disney After Hours allowed for seeing little details easily missed during regular park hours. All three attractions were under a 5 minute wait.
Snacks at Disney After Hours
There are several carts set up throughout each section of the park where you can get complimentary popcorn, ice cream novelties and bottled beverages. You can have as much as you want!
We enjoyed the popcorn and the Mickey Ice Cream bars and sandwiches. I had a couple myself. Loved this extra perk included in the price of your ticket.
I would suggest if you would like something more filling to eat do it before you arrive at the park. Only select items were available at Woody’s Lunchbox, Anaheim Produce and KNNR The Rock Station once the event started. If you are seeking adult beverages for purchase, there are outdoors bars throughout the park.
During Disney After Hours you can meet up with some of your favorite characters. Toy Story Land Pals, Mickey, Minnie and Olaf. In Star Wars Launch Bay you can visit with Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and BB-8. We waited about 15 minutes to visit with Woody and Jessie and no wait to visit with the Star Wars crew.
An added bonus for Disney After Hours taking place during the holiday season is the decorations! The Studios were decked out with beautiful vintage overlays and lights. It is my favorite park during the holidays. It was really peaceful just listening to the music and casually walking around taking in the sights.
All in all I would highly recommend this Disney After Hours event to anyone who is either short on time for a mini vacation to Walt Disney World or to any locals who just want to be out of the Florida sun and ride your favorite attractions without any long waits. If you are considering just a one day park ticket, this After Hours event will be the better one to purchase for $125! Plus, snacks are included in the price of your ticket!
I had so much fun with my friend who was also invited to this event. We just took in the details of the park and enjoyed taking photos without people all around us.
You can read my review of this very same event I attended this summer in the Magic Kingdom here.
There are only a limited amount of tickets sold each evening and just a few dates left until April 2019.

Thank you to Walt Disney World for hosting me for this Disney After Hours experience. As always, all opinions are my own.
